Composite Ducting
A molded rigid foam manufacturing process casts rigid isocyanurate foam into tools lined with fiberglass cloth.
This method enables parts to be formed into various shapes with a fiberglass skin integrally molded into the part surface. A variety of secondary operations can be performed to complete full assemblies.
With its lightweight structure, moderate strength, and ability to be molded into complex shapes, the rigid foam process is an excellent choice for self-insulating air distribution ducts and panels in SHEERGARD® radomes. The rigid foam technology was developed for aircraft and is available for many other applications.
