The extent of involvement of this team is customer driven and can vary from a minimalist approach, only providing technical expertise for our world-class manufacturing floor, to a fully integrated roll assisting in site visits and concept ideation, ensuring the final product works exactly as intended.
Packaged alongside the specialty design services, comes the flexible manufacturing capability of our shop floor. Over 50 years of fabrication experience has established the team as experts in techniques for thermal welding fluoropolymers with all of our materials. These high performing materials are not only weaved and coated in our facility, but the same technical knowledge is transferred into the assembly of the final product. Structured fabrication lines allow us to streamline the day-to-day operations and designated free workspace allocates the necessary room for the larger systems. A network of overhead gantry cranes and portable service outlets allow us to cater expertly to any project, regardless of shape or size.
Examples of such involvement include discreet rooftop radar protection systems, where manufacturing methodology was tweaked to work best with the customer’s available environment, to developing first of its kind manufacturing equipment to launch a non-delaminating, permanently hydrophobic sandwich radome.
Saint-Gobain SHEERGARD RF transparent materials are inherently very good with respect to minimizing production of Intermodulation Products. As compared to a Metal Space Frame radome which requires isolation of all metal to metal contact in the frame and hardware as well as careful finishing of welds during manufacture, the SHEERGARD Air Supported radome eliminates the risk of not meeting radome IMP requirements due to manufacturing or assembly issues. No special treatments are necessary to produce a SHEERGARD Air Supported radome for a satellite communications system that has strict specifications on IMP production.
