Antenna Covers
SHEERGARD™ antenna covers, or planar radomes, are designed to provide protection to exposed terrestrial point-to-point microwave communication antennas.
This protection is critical where the antenna includes a microwave absorbent shield or ring for sidelobe reduction. The planar radome prevents the collection of snow, water, ice and debris within the shield. It also provides additional protection for the antenna feed and reduces the wind load on the tower structure. Special antennas, such as a reflective horn, may require a positive closure and may be pressurized.
The planar radome can incorporate a rigid frame or ring for attachment to the antenna reflector edge or a wraparound system that creates tension in the cover using spring attachment hardware.
SHEERGARD Antenna Shelters are designed to provide protection and concealment for antennas and the associated equipment where a conventional spherical radome is not appropriate.

Extreme Environmental Protection
SHEERGARD PTFE coated fabrics have been analyzed and tested for structural application to all environmental conditions.
Proven Reliability
The materials used for radome fabrication are composites consisting of a woven substrate fabric protected with applied coatings, providing tensile strength and tear resistance.

Complete Vertical Integration
SHEERGARD incorporates vertical integration of all elements in the composite manufacturing process including yarn twisting
and weaving, polymer coating, casting and lamination.

Unsurpassed RF Performance
The primary function of a radome is to protect the enclosed antenna system while having minimal effect on the transmission of the electromagnetic signal.
