Regulatory compliance tests and source inspections have become more challenging to execute as travel and facility access are restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Quickly adapting to new circumstances, Saint-Gobain Aerospace leveraged its expertise in structural testing and certification to perform remote witnessing of a lightning strike test for a new radome.
Don Dentler, Program Manager at Saint-Gobain Aerospace, explains: “This remote test was a ‘first’ for Saint-Gobain as well as for our partners. We shared ideas and learned together. Our preparation and collaboration paid off with a successful test and valuable experience that can be applied to future projects.”
At a time when “business as usual” is being redefined on every front, Saint-Gobain expects remote testing and inspection will become a frequent requirement as well as a valuable capability, allowing us to manage development projects more efficiently and keep customer programs on track.
