Saint-Gobain, a global leader in materials technologies, will exhibit at JEC World 2019 in Paris on March 12-14.
The company will feature components manufactured using RT2i, an automated composite processing technology that eliminates manual lay-up. The display will be part of JEC’s Aerospace Planet, which showcases new composite applications for high performance markets.
RT2i is a knitting technology that integrates the reinforcement fiber and the matrix together to produce a complex shape –all in one piece. By replacing manual lay-up with an automated process, RT2i delivers better quality and a host of operational cost savings.
Pierre Bou, Saint-Gobain’s Europe Business Manager for Aerospace, explains, “Our exhibit at the JEC 2019 Aero Planet showcases ducting and other complex composite shapes manufactured with RT2i. Visitors can learn how the technology can improve quality, increase throughput, and reduce costs while simplifying their manufacturing operation.”
Saint-Gobain also will be represented at the JEC’s Speaker Series. Pierre Bou will provide a detailed explanation of the RT2i process and the many benefits this technology delivers. Flavien Fremy, Research & Development Leader, will introduce an innovative software developed by Saint-Gobain to enable design collaboration. By using advanced tools, Saint-Gobain is able to shorten product development timelines and help customers gain advantage through speed to market.
More information about RT2i are available on Saint-Gobain's website and the JEC Speaker Series is available at the JEC World web site. Visitors to JEC World 2019 are encouraged to stop by Saint-Gobain’s Hall 6 booth U45 to learn more about the company’s technical innovations.
